Woodside Road, home to Worthing FC’s Rebels, has a brand new 3G pitch. The Dudman Group of Companies began work at the Club on 10 June, preparing the ground and supplying over 4000 tonnes of material ready for the new artificial surface.
Planning permissions was granted in May 2014 with work starting in April, 2015. The project to convert the natural grass pitch into an all-weather surface is one that the Dudman Group staff were keen to get involved in and support the local football community.
The Dudman Group of Companies provided bulk excavation services to remove the original grass and supplied 2/6mm and Type 1 for an aggregate sub base and 10mm marine gravel for drainage ready for the 60mm ACT Global 3G Synthetic Grass Pitch to be laid.
George Dowell, new Rebels Director and majority shareholder, has driven the implementation of the 3G pitch which, along with other club changes, will secure the financial future of the club. With the new pitch now in place the Club anticipate an increase of over 1000 players and spectators to use the all-weather pitch and drive revenue for the Club.
