Barnfield Retail Park, Chichester
Since September 2015 the Dudman Group of Companies has been heavily involved in supplying the county for new Chichester development providing aggregate materials and concrete.
Barnfield Retail Park, which recently welcomed the opening of the newly relocated Halfords store, has been created as part of a council project building on seven acres of council-owned land.
This area of Chichester, formerly a landfill site and quarry, is now home to four retail units; Wickes, Halfords, Iceland Food Warehouse and Aldi.
During this year-long venture the Dudman Group has been supplying the county for new Chichester development with 5000 tonnes of aggregate and 2500m³ of concrete to a number of customers working on the new project.
The 5000 tonnes of aggregate included 2000 tonne of Eco-Mix 10/20mm stone, 1800 tonne of Eco-Mix 20/40mm stone and 600 tonnes of recycled 6F5 plus 1200m³ of ready-mix concrete.
In March 1000m³ concrete was supplied to be used in the internal unit floors and supplied over a one-week period and in May the new entrance to the retail park was built using 300m³ of C40/50 concrete.
Halfords was the first store to be opened at the end of July this year and it is expected that over 100 jobs will be created as a result of this new retail park.
