The Dudman Group, working alongside J.T Mackley ltd, has delivered thousands of tonnes of rock armour, large granite boulders to repair local storm damage. The rock was delivered to Southsea to repair a section of the sea barrier that was storm damaged.
Roy Hammond, Sales Manager commented on the project: “We are very pleased to have been involved with the major sea defence scheme in Portsmouth with J.T Mackley Ltd.
“The project involved shipping up to 3600 tonne of rock armour from our West country quarry and then transporting by road directly to the Southsea esplanade.”
Elizabeth Truss, Environment Secretary praised the swift action taken by all to plug the huge holes in the promenade and sea wall at Southsea, following storm damage in 2015.
The Portsmouth District Council went to print to underline their appreciation of the amount of effort given by all parties involved.
