The Dudman Group of Companies recently supplied up to 800m³ of ready mixed concrete for the new Brighton i360 project. Providing 13 concrete mixers, including the new six and eight cubic metre Mercedes Arocs trucks, concrete was supplied from the Dudman Group’s Shoreham and Chichester depots.
Saturday 30 May saw the first of two concrete pours to create the foundations, for what will become a world-famous landmark, designed by the London Eye architects. The first pour delivery was successfully completed in 12 hours with the Dudman Group mixers being the first and last to pour.
Working in partnership with Mackley, and alongside Hanson UK, Camfaud and SMD Formwork, the second major pour was carried out on 10 June at the site of the historic West Pier and the new home of the Brighton i360 observation tower.
The Brighton i360 is due to open in summer 2016, as the World’s first vertical cable car. Once completed it will also be the World’s tallest moving observation tower with 360˚views of up to 26 miles.
